Strange private message

Hello,

When I woke up this morning I got an email from someone called apostleeric.  It was in my private messages section.  It was a very strange message about shipping me some gold and had very religious content.  It mentioned doing business with me.  It freaked me out somewhat so I reported it to the management team it looked like some sort of scam.  How did this person manage to send me a private message? Has anyone else experienced this.

    The spammer accounts have now been erased. All of their PM Spam has been deleted by the system.

    Yeah, it’ll almost certainly get nuked either by Tim or by inSided. The support request I’ve got open with them should allow them to dig deeper into the logs even after that spammer gets erased. Logs are kept for six months so they’ve got plenty of time.

      Yeah, me too 😒. Apostleeric1 for me, no doubt once eric1 is gone, eric2 will pop up, then eric3. Do they really think anyone will fall for their pathetic scam?

      That’s why I’m in talks with inSided. :)

      They have very powerful tools to get rid of such pests and make sure they can’t come back to either the OVO Forum… Or any other community on the platform.

        I’ve had an update from the support system at inSided. This incident is being investigated.

        If possible, I’ll ask them about whether they can do any remote deleting of the spam PMs from every inbox. Otherwise, there’s options like just erasing the spammer from the entire forum. They never posted publicly, so it’d be like they never existed.

          I can confirm that the decision has been taken to erase the spammers completely - this will wipe the PMs from your inboxes within 30 days.

          If you have any more evidence, feel free to drop it in this thread as well as reporting the PM directly.
