Refund not working on the app, is this a bug?

I'm looking at the app and trying to get a refund. The app is asking for a meter reading, even though my smart meter is supplying a daily reading. The app now doesn't show me how much refund I can get, however it did until a couple of weeks ago when I last checked.

Hi,

Bug verified using Dewott with Android 14/Samsung One UI 6.0. App version 19.1.0 and CodePush v449.

It is still possible to request refunds via the Web at https://my.ovoenergy.com while this gets fixed.

I will get this flagged up to the Forum Moderators, they’ll be able to take it from there. You’re not in trouble - this is actually really helpful!

Thank you for the report!

Hi @Bobbles69 , the message suggests that there is no ‘recent’ reading so supplying one would allow you to see what your balance is.
Don’t forget that in your usage graphs may be using estimates if the readings are not getting through - if that happens it looks like proper readings even though they’re not. Check for ‘Smart, Estimated or Manual’ next to the readings

Hey @Bobbles69,

Sorry for the issues you’re having,

Have you managed to initiate a refund through the online account?
