OVO didn't design the scheme. It is not OVO you should be telling this.

If you don't like it feedback to the National Grid ESO. It is their scheme.

Hi Jeffus, I know OVO isn’t the instigator of the scheme, I don’t believe I said anywhere that it was? Absolutely right I don’t like it, and was composing a mail to the complaints dept., box.ESO.complaints@Nationalgrideso.com when notification of your reply came through. Of course I don’t for one moment expect a reply, why would they bother? Merry Christmas.

Why is OVO asking us to hit a percentage when some other companies are just asking there customers to try to lower their energy for the set time. OVO seems to be targeting low users while other energy supplier are including high users.

The scheme is the same for all companies in terms of the target, it is just the way OVO explain it.

The Demand Flexibility scheme criteria are identical

I signed up via Hugo, my minimum is exactly the same as it would be under OVO.

The only difference is for some sessions suppliers put in bids so you may end up earning more or less per kWh you save.

Have you replied to the ofgem consultation?

As a low user in the peak period this is possibly more relevant to you.

You are never going to be the target market for the emergency Demand Flexibility Scheme as you simply can't save much energy in the peak period.

Personally I don't think you should be paid more under the Demand Flexibility Service, but that doesn't mean that other things can't and shouldn't be done for users who use little electricity generally like standing charges or  social tariff.

Ofgem regularly look for feedback. I am absolutely sure you could provide them with some useful ideas. The more people lobby, the more likely change will happen.

You are confusing Power Move and Power Move Plus

Power Move has a percentage target and runs for a whole month. Each participant has the same target percentage.

Power Move Plus is a series of one-off ‘events’. Each event lasts a short period on a particular day. The targets are in kWh not a percentage, they are different ‘personalised’ targets for everyone and can be different for each event based on what you normally use during the event times.
