Had previously posted this on the OVO Forum

So it looks like the Power Move is on its way again. What's everyone thought on it this time around?

Well, obviously depends on what they are offering but my current feeling is that it is not worth the hassle, even at the previous rate. And I think it is going to be less generous this time?

@hodgsonk I totally agree with you for some people it's really not worth the hassle for a monthly saving of £10.

I’d much prefer to have a go (it doesn’t cost anything) and try to help cool this planet of ours

Yes, well I’d like to save the planet too but this is not really about reducing energy use, it’s mostly just shifting it to another time of day.

And, yes, I know the arguments about reducing the load on the power stations at the busiest times. If it is such a big deal then surely the power companies should make it easier / more worthwhile.

So has the Power Move already began?

I think it's a good idea. It may only be a tenner a month but our electric bill last month was £35 so that is a worthwhile saving.

It shouldn't be about the money though should it?  It is about collective responsibility and what is the right responsible thing to do.

If 20 million households did this it would most certainly have an effect.

What I think is a shame is that so many members of this forum seem to have the attitude "what's in it for me" it's about pound notes rather than the right thing to do.

I had assumed that the members of this forum were perhaps driven more  by environmental concerns than money.

I am not a tree hugger who super glues myself to the M25,  just an OAP in my mid seventies who would like a reasonable future for my grand children.

Think on!
