Introducing Charge Anytime - next generation EV charging

Updated on 25/08/25 by Chris_OVO:

Here’s the latest on our new electric vehicle charging type-of-use plan

We’ve relaunched Anytime as Charge Anytime. It’s not only a new name, we’ve made some updates to the product and we want to tell you all about it…

See our Charge Anytime product page here

What are the headline facts about Charge Anytime?

  • Smart charge your electric vehicle for 7p per kWh whenever you need to,
  • Now available to be added to any OVO plan, including electric-only households,
  • Intelligently optimises your charge for when the energy is at its greenest.*

Am I eligible?

You can see all eligibility details in our Charge Anytime page here.

  • You must be an OVO Energy customer and have an eligible car or charger. We’re constantly looking to open up the eligibility of this product to more EV models and chargers, so if you don’t see your tech here, keep an eye on our page.

Our customers and trialists have really played a huge role in shaping Charge Anytime, not least the members of this forum. Leave a comment below if you have any questions, feedback and to let us know if you’ll be adding Charge Anytime to your OVO plan.

Want to know more about how Charge Anytime works? Check out this really helpful YouTube video from the team!

We’ve got a dedicated topic hub to all things Charge Anytime, so if you’re having any issues, take a look through the guides below, and if you’ve got any other questions feel free to ask our community:

*Our smart tech will aim to charge your car at a time when the grid has more renewable energy in it. Meaning it’s less likely your EV will be charged by energy from fossil fuels.

You can, yes. With the obvious caveat that you wouldn’t get the 7p/kWh rate.

Just tried. It’s charging. That’s sad . It’s costing 4x more . Hopefully they can add ex30 since other Volvo electric cars are compatible .

Volvo changed the software massively for 2022 and later models. It’s… Complicated...

Can anyone clear up a very confused new member?

  1. I have a Citroen e-C4 (Series E 2024).
  2. I have PV battery system with a bi-directional FIT meter.
  3. Internet available.
  4. Proposed EV Charger to be either OHME ePod or Easee One
  5. OVO account holder

My query is would I qualify for Charge Anytime?

If not, what would my likely kwh rate (assuming that I can set up an economic time of charge for either charger).

If Charge Anytime is not available, what (and when) is it likely to be compatible?

Hi @PiersM59 ,

The question is whether you have Solar, which I suspect you do. In this situation, you MUST go with an Indra charger if you want to get Charge Anytime - Ohme doesn’t support the required Solar Matching features.

If you do not get the Charge Anytime Add-On, your EV Charging will be at the normal rates for whatever OVO Plan you’re on.

Hi, as my title says.
I had to call Ford to reset my account, I have them tried to add my car back on the OVO app but it’s getting stuck in a loop. It says click ok to approve T and C. Once I have done that it does to another page for T and C but doesn’t go to the Ford log in page as it should.

Hey @Can,

I’m sorry to hear you are having issues adding your car back. Have you tried deleting the app and re-installing it? It could be that your device is still holding on to some remnants of the previous time the car was set up, which is stopping the process from completing.

If you try this and you’re still having issues, then contact our Charge Anytime team at 0330 175 9678 (option 2 for existing customers) or chargeanytime@ovo.com.

Keep us updated if you were successful.
