Calling Charge Anytime app users - help us build the best charging app

We’re creating a charging app that combines both at-home and public charging, making owning and charging an EV simpler than ever, and we’d like your help.

 

We’re looking for customers with Charge Anytime to give feedback and help shape the future of EV charging.

 

 

We’re looking for customers who are:

  • Current OVO Charge Anytime app users
  • Not connected to Charge Anytime via an Ohme or Indra charger
  • Happy to provide feedback on your experience using the app in a private forum

If this sounds like you, we'd love to have you onboard.

 

 

What do you need to do? 

 

Complete this form with your details We'll get in touch if we think you're the right fit for the test with a link to the private feedback forum. You'll get an email invite to TestFlight (iOS) or Firebase App Distribution (Android) and instructions on how to download the app will be in the forum. Charge your car at home and away as normal using the new Charge app

Your forum email address will need to be the same as your Charge Anytime email address to take part in this trial. If you need to change your forum email address, please let us know by commenting below and we’ll get in touch.

Many thanks for the email invite I received. However, on starting to complete the webform I’ve been asked to provide both our account email address and also my Apple ID or Android account ID. And this is just the first page of the questionnaire! I’d otherwise be more than willing to participate in this testing proposal but the requests made for personal details seem to be excessive and invasive.

Yes please. I would love to be able to set the charge times in my car again like t used to so I could see how much each day's charge cost me. If I do that now the charge refuses to start and I have to boost it the following day.

The details are required for the following reasons:

OVO Account/Charge Anytime account details: To verify you’re eligible

OVO Forum Username: OVO Forum purposes, such as adding you to private groups. Bradley won’t use what you enter into that form for anything else

Apple ID: Required by Apple to invite a user to a TestFlight test program - this is Apple’s rules, not OVO’s rules (NOT used for anything else!)

Google Account username/Google Play Store account: Required by Google to use Firebase App Distribution to invite a user to the FAD test program (NOT used for anything else)

Kia EV6 has a 77.4Kwh battery.

I have it set to 77 in the new app as any attempt to enter decimals hard crashes it.

Now, not allowing decimals is fine, but having the whole app go spectacularly pear shaped from simply tapping "." in a field isn't..

I hope you're doing well! Just a quick note: as you mentioned, rounding up to the nearest number works best since we don’t need to be super precise. I’ve also shared with the team that using a special character causes the app to crash, so they’re on it!

Charge app not as slick on iPad compared to my android mobile.

 

no day / date shown in the charge history tab on iPad (but included on Android)

 Scaling definitely out on orientation, this is the worst of the bunch.

Just a quick update: this thread has been archived since we've released a new article as seen in the conversation above. 

 

To answer your question, the app is designed specifically for mobile devices like iOS and Android. iPad OS tries to upscale the mobile version for iPads, but that may lead to some optimisation issues. Unfortunately, we don't have plans to fix this. So, for the best experience, I recommend using your phone for now!
