What is the Warm Home Discount (WHD)?

 

The Warm Home Discount is a one-off £150 discount given to eligible domestic electricity customers to help with their energy costs. It's usually paid between October and March of each scheme year. It's a Government scheme funded by participating energy suppliers like us. It’s designed to help people who need it most.

 

The Warm Home Discount (Broader Group) has now opened to applications from our customers based in Scotland.

 

Customers can apply online here. 

 

Broader Group Eligibility Criteria can be found here.
 

We encourage all customers who believe they fall into the Broader group (Scotland Only) to apply online via the OVO website. 

 

However, If a customer needs some assistance completing their WHD application please contact our support team.

There is a degree of support available. As usual, there’s the Warm Home Discount, Cold Weather Payments and Winter Fuel Payments, I’ve documented some of the other support in a guide I wrote a few months ago.

    Its unlikely that OVO will help.  The new PM will offer us all some sort of help shortly - but at present its an unknown.

    Eon and EDF customer. Don't think smart meters are worth the expense.

    Hi @prefocus ,

    Most of it goes to your bank account, except the Warm Home Discount which is basically the same as it was last year for pensioners for the most part.

    Pretty much everything except WHD is beyond OVO’s control however.
