Refer a friend scheme- Will it ever come back?

We've launched a new refer a friend scheme, a way to reward our customers and it’s just launched this week.

When an existing OVO customer refers a friend who switches to us, you both get up to £50 energy credit (£25 for single fuel, £50 for dual fuel) on your energy bill. For more detail on the refer a friend programme, check out the full Terms and Conditions here.

How does the scheme work?

1. The referrer shares a unique link via the OVO app

2. The referee signs up using that link

3. Both stay with OVO for 90 days

4. Energy Credit is applied automatically after the 90-day period is complete.

Key eligibility

Referrer must:

• Be an existing OVO energy customer with a credit meter

• Share their referral link via the OVO app

• Stay with OVO until the energy credit is due

Referee must:

• Be a new customer (not with OVO in the past 3 months)

• Join through the personal referral link

• Stay with OVO for at least 90 days

• Have a credit meter (not Pay As You Go) and pay by direct debit.

Not eligible if:

• Referral link wasn’t used

• Referee leaves within 90 days

• Either party leaves OVO before credit date

• PayG customers

The energy credit will only apply if the referral link was used, and both parties remain with OVO for the full 90 days.
