Question

THTC after 30 June 2025

I have THTC and standard meters but no storage heaters and therefore do not require RTS. THTC used 24/7 for panel heaters, underfloor electric heating and hot water. Will a 2 meter system with THTC still be available after 30 June 2025.

Hi @Vincent998 , while you may not have or want RTS, this info piece has a lot of information about options for meter change over which might help

I'm not sure about the THTC tariff itself but the new meter systems should be able to work for you and with a single meter rather than using two

I’m afraid that the end of 24-hour heating at lower rates is nigh. THTC hasn’t gone away yet, but it surely will as every installation is upgraded to smart metering. There is no modern equivalent, so when your meters reach end of life, there will probably be a big change in your situation.

It’s only systems that are controlled by RTS that may break down when the signal is switched off in June. If yours isn’t RTS-controlled, there’s no rush to do anything. If you posted photos of your meters and told us where you live, we might be able to help more.
