Hi All,

Can you buy In -Home display?

The SSe Smart Energy Tracker is very old and not working just keeps bleeping. I’v asked ovo for a replacement. After numerous emails and asking me to try different things like switch  it off twenty times, they have come back to say they can’t or won’t replace it. But I can go on line or phone them to check my usage. I had been a customer  with SSe from  early 1970  and now with ovo and they can’t make life a little easier and replace it with the new in home display. No customer care from this Utility company.

Sorry to hear about the beeping IHD. On the smart energy tracker, this would normally be because the battery is running low. If you’re able to plug the device in please do this, and this may stop the beeping.

 

If the device is already plugged in, and is beeping, this may indicate a poor connection. The device could also be beeping due to being faulty and, in this case, it’ll need to be replaced. 

 

I’d like to reassure you that the reason we have not sent you a new IHD isn’t because of a lack of care, but is actually because we have currently run out of stock of IHDs for enrolled first generation (S1) meters, which you’ll have if you’ve got a smart energy tracker. If this hasn’t been done already, please request that customer services fill out the form for you to be put on the waiting list, which’ll mean you’ll be posted one free of charge as soon as we have stock again.

 

I hope this helps and, in the meantime, you can check your usage online, or on the app if you have access, which provides even more accurate data than you’ll see on any IHD. There’s a guide for this here.

It doesn’t resolve your issue, but the Ovo app has all the same details (and more) as the IHD.  We have an IHD but I never look at it as I can just check my phone to see what I need to.
