The RTS signal is being phased out gradually from 30 June 2025, with the switch-off happening area by area in a carefully managed process. If you have an RTS meter, we’ll been in touch to let you know it’ll need to be replaced. For those who haven’t replaced their RTS meter(s) yet, we’ll send another reminder with the specific switch-off date for your area.

If you need an RTS meter replacement and haven’t booked an appointment yet, please get in touch with us as soon as possible. Once the phase out starts in your area, appointment availability may be limited, and we’ll prioritise appointments for our most vulnerable customers.

If you’re on the Economy 7 tariff

The Economy 7 tariff offers cheaper off-peak electricity overnight, and costs more during the day. If you're on this tariff, please book a meter replacement via your online account, or call us on 0330 102 8819 Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

If you're on a different tariff to Economy 7

If you're on any other tariff, like Total Heat Total Control (THTC) or Economy 10, please call us on 0330 102 8594 to book a meter replacement. We're here Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Hi @Markos74 ,

I have verified this is a legit number for OVO - it’s intended for RTS → Smart Meter Upgrades and is the recommended one. An internal contact of mine was able to validate it based on emails they’ve seen being sent out by OVO recently.

If you want to play it extra safe, you can call 0330 303 5063 and ask to speak to Squad 70 for this purpose.

Is there no separation of Squad 70 into ‘(Northern) Scotland and everywhere else’? It strikes me that some of the hurdles are different ‘up there’, and some of the Scots are used to having their own support team, used to the vagaries of RTS, THTC and LMA.

As far as I know, Squad 70 is cross-trained on the setups both in Northern Scotland and everywhere else.
