Ovo Beyond - can't select free electricity window in app?

Hi, I’m new here and can’t seem to find my question in the topics so starting a new one. 
 

I don’t seem to have the option to sign up for the free electricity and choose my time slot. I’ve checked my account and I meet the criteria: direct debit in place, I’m a ‘Beyond’ member and my smart meters send half-hourly readings. 
 

Can someone please explain when the ‘window’ is for choosing your free electricity time slot? And if that window is open now (Sunday afternoon), why can’t I click on the ‘get 2 hours free’ button in my app? 
 

Any help would be gratefully received, I’ve read many articles and forum posts but I’m still confused!

If you’re ever experiencing issues with the app, such as features not working, freezing, or error messages, please try deleting the app from your device and reinstalling it. This’ll mean you’ll have the latest update version for the app. You can also go into your device app settings and set the OVO app to auto-update.

Ok, try reinstalling the app just in case it got corrupted.

Let me know if that still doesn’t help

Howdy!

First things I’d try are these:

  • Restart your phone and load the app using a different internet connection e.g. mobile data rather than Wi-Fi
  • Turn OFF any VPN apps
  • Check the app is fully up-to-date from the Play Store/App Store

Do any of these help?

I'm not 100% sure but I think you have to be invited and you definitely can only do it on the app.

Can you post a screenshot of what you are seeing, it might help work out what may be happening.

Have you tried again today (Monday)?
I just set my Free hours for the 24th and 29th June with no problem.

I’m sorry to hear of the issues you’ve had, and I can see some great answers have been given here. Have you tried deleting and reinstalling the app?

Thank you, I did this and initially it didn’t work but today the button let me join. I then got this screen:

Nice! Come back to that in a couple of days and you should be able to make some selections.

I did try adding a screenshot but for some reason it didn’t work, sorry! Now tried again and I think I’ve joined but now have to wait before I can choose my slot :) screenshot included in one of my replies above, thank you
