It looks like you’ve got an RTS meter which is losing its radio signal in a few months time.
From what I understand the meter will continue working but any update will probably require a tariff switch and I’ve not seen E10 being offered recently.
I can’t quite see how your wiring operates having 3 distribution boards and a few others I can’t identify. I think you might need some specialist help

You might want to try 0345 071 7972.

Economy 10 is unfortunately no longer available in 99% of cases, but you can get Economy 7.

I’ve recently spoken to OVO’s internal Smart Meter Friend as well and they’ve told me about other potential future options as well. I’d recommend calling that number to see what you get.

@Blastoise186 didn’t our smart meter platform expert also confirm this RTS shut down was being delayed?

As long as the valves at Droitwich Transmission Station don’t go bang before then! :)

Because they don’t make that type of valve anymore and the stocks of spare valves of that type in the Arqiva inventory are said to be depleted to basically… Zero. They’ve already blown up pretty much all the other ones when those valves went bang! :)

Assuming that doesn’t happen, the sunset has been delayed again. However the fact remains that the RTS Signal is still going to be turned off at some point, we just don’t know when.

I have been offered economy 10 meter but when SSE chap attended to swap the meter he said it could not be done until the fuse box had been modified.  He gave me a very vague explanation which my electrician was not sure of so he agreed to attend when SSE were there to do the switch however, coordinating this is proving very difficult as two SSE appointments have been cancelled at short notice with my electrician being inconvenienced too.   So I’m trying to get ahead of the game understanding what needs done so my electrician can do the job at his convenience and not have to be on stand by to attend again when SSE turn up or not!

Hey @Felix123,

Sorry for the issues you’re having,

OVO don’t provide Economy 10 meters, only Economy 7. Not many suppliers provide Economy 10 meters or plans anymore, if OVO were to exchange the meter for a customer with this meter set up, a smart Economy 7 meter would be installed.

I think it might be best to contact your previous supplier they should hopefully have the job report from the previous engineer and can let you know what work needs to take place.

I’ve found some guides about all things Economy 10 which might be helpful to you:

Keep us posted with how you get on!
