I've had a recent bill but noticed that the ovo sort code has changed for bank transfers and I'm a bit wary of making the payment. Has anyone else had this ?

I looked up the instructions at OVO’s Help site. This is what I found:

4. Paying my energy bill via a bank transfer

To pay your bill, you can also make a transfer from your bank account to ours. Our bank account number is 83683249 and sort code 20-00-00.

Remember to include your OVO account number and postcode in the reference field, so we can link payment to your account.

This should be safe enough ...

Hey @Mandy 1974

Glad to see Firedog has already stopped by with some helpful advice here, and included the correct details for a normal bank transfer to OVO.

If you usually make this payment via GIRO slip, then you may have noticed a difference in the account number and this is normal. In June 2025, OVO introduced a new bank account for customers making payments via GIRO slip.

If you still have any concerns you can share a photo or screenshot and we’ll help confirm this for you.
