For the last few years I have been convinced that we were being grossly overcharged in comparison to the amount of electricity we were using. I contacted SSE to ask them to investigate but they repeatedly told me that my bills were what would be expected. Eventually, I got them to install a check meter but they never came back to remove it, so it was removed when we had a Smart Meter installed in July. When I compare the next three months with the same period last year, it is almost half what we paid then, yet our electricity usage pattern has not changed since then.
I would add that we have a 12kWh wind turbine, now re-wired through the Smart Meter, and I can’t help but wonder if it was not correctly wired into the previous domestic meter, so that it was not offsetting our usage.
Does this sound feasible to others and, regardless, how do I get OVO to finally take me seriously regarding these years extortionate electricity bills?

Overcharged for electricity - could my wind turbine be wired up incorrectly?

Hi
It’s quite possible the wind turbine messed up the old meter somehow - Smart Meters are the only ones known to be able to handle that stuff without issue.
Try the process at https://ovoenergy.com/feedback - this will likely resolve the issue.
