It would be very useful if, in addition to listing vehicles currently supported by charge anytime, Ovo published a roadmap for future support. Presumably there’s a team working on this and they have some idea when new support will be delivered?

Hi @jeremyorme ,

Please note that these are just the personal thoughts of a Forum Volunteer - they do not represent OVO’s official view.

Might be a bit tricky to be honest…

Making these promises causes more animosity when they cannot be met due to unexpected delays. It’s arguably safer to announce this stuff when it’s ready to actually be used for that reason alone.

Hey @jeremyorme

I’ve changed this idea to ‘Can’t Be Done Yet’, but I have passed this along to the team who agree it’s an interesting suggestion.

Blastoise186 made some good points above as to why this might not be possible - and releasing official news will always be best than potentially promising something that may delay or potentially end up not working out for any matter of reasons. New additions to both the EV and smart charger list are always being worked on but it does take an enormous effort from both our Charge Anytime team as well as the potential manufacturer to ensure all software and hardware will be compatible correctly.

Is there something you’re hoping to be added on some time soon?

I have a Volvo EX30 and will soon also have a Renault 5 E Tech. I have an Ohme charger but that was sadly dropped from charge anytime (very disappointing after spending £1000 to have it installed for that purpose). Anyway, it seems to me that I shouldn’t rely on charge anytime because the support is so patchy and would perhaps be better using an economy 7 tariff or something like that where it doesn’t rely on such technology. It was really great when it worked btw. On the other hand if there was some evidence that Ovo is committed to this tech then it might change my mind. My 2 year fix ends in a few months so that’s my timeline for making a decision.

Hey @jeremyorme

Thanks for that further details. Sorry to hear you were also impacted by the removal of Ohme, that has caused some issues and changes so it’s shame that’s had an impact on this too.

I have added an EV badge to your profile, as always, we’ll keep the list up to date with new additions, and if there is a change in status to this idea, we can always come back and change it if it’s something the Charge Anytime move to look at.
