I’ve just started using the main OVO app to top up my PAYG gas meter after being requested to do so by OVO. Previously I was using the specific OVO Top- up app.
One issue I have found is that when making a payment via the new system, there is no immediate confirmation that the payment has been successful. Instead I have to wait half an hour or even more to see whether my gas meter has registered the top-up, and whether my bank account has been debited.
This is very frustrating. In the past using the old Top-up app, there were a number of occasions when I didn’t know if a payment had been successful or not. This could be for a variety of reasons - card declined, internet connection issues, a system wide OVO problem, etc. The way I knew my payment had gone through was by receiving almost immediately an SMS confirmation text.
Using the new top up method, I don’t get this and am advised that SMS texts are no longer used. The payment page simply goes back to the previous screen.
could the texts be resurrected, or at the very least a PAYMENT SUCCESSFUL screen appear?
