I recently had a chat and once it was done, I had no way to capture what had been discussed.  It would be great of you could make a transcript of the chat available via e-mail when the chat was completed.

Thanks for posting this idea, @bungles - I think it makes a lot of sense to have a transcript automatically sent you. 

 

This Forum Ideas area currently only covers the forum itself, OVO Help, the OVO online account and the OVO app. As you access online chat via OVO Help and the app, it may be covered by the product teams who we collaborate with here. So I’ll change the status of this idea to ‘Open for votes’ for the time being.

 

If it does turn out that this is out of scope for Forum Ideas we may need to update the status. Either way it would be great to see the level of interest in this idea, so get voting!

Just as a side note in case it helps. It appears that the provider of the live chat tool being used does support saving transcripts of chat interactions to the internal system and it might be possible to use the API to retrieve them and send them on somehow. A bit of a hack, but it might work with some clever tricks if it won’t natively handle the task!

@Blastoise186 is the save transcript option for customers or for the advisors speaking on web chat?


Based on the documentation, advisors only right now. However, it’s possible to extract the transcript via the API and you could potentially hook that up to something like AWS SNS to push it out via email.


In that case, @conrail this wouldn’t be something you can see and select, but instead you’d need to ask the advisor to save and send you a transcript. Also you can copy and paste the transcript manually by highlighting the text in the web chat...

Since June, the post-conversation bot after online chats should now give customers/users the option to be sent an email transcript of their chat, as well as an option to complete a satisfaction survey.
