Don't make the Moving In help pages spin members round in circles!

Right now, the Quote & Switch tool is temporarily offline, but it’s causing a redirect loop for new members who move into a new home that OVO already supplies.

https://switch.ovoenergy.com/ tells people to visit https://www.ovoenergy.com/moving-home but https://www.ovoenergy.com/moving-home tells people to visit https://switch.ovoenergy.com/ which makes them spin around in an infinite loop of circles.

This isn’t ideal at all and is causing quite a few headaches. Anyone got a way to break the cycle? :D

We’ll be updating that page to remove the link to the Quote page, due to it being unavailable for online quotes at this time.

The thing is under the ofgem license conditions OVO have to let any new customer switch to the OVO Simpler tariff. Not just new customers in an OVO supplied home

At the moment this has to be done by phone.

Wouldn't it be better to simply enable the online quote tools in general?

OVO has never allowed online quotes/switches for Simpler Energy directly anyway - it’s always been a case of phoning up for that one

I think the best response to this is to quote the message on the quote page:

 

Sorry, we can't give you an online quote today

We'd love to have you. But right now, it's best for customers to stick with their current suppliers rather than switching. If you're on a fixed tariff, it's probably the best deal for you. And if you're on a variable tariff, then you're protected by Ofgem's energy price cap. If you’d still like a quote here's how to talk to us

 

Add in to that the energy price guarantee, and the benefit for switching suppliers isn’t really that valid at the moment.
