Hello everyone — our house is about 32 years old, and we're debating whether to spend money on new insulation or replace some of our windows first. If you've tackled insulation and air sealing projects, what improvements did you notice in terms of comfort, energy bills, and overall home efficiency?

Hey @vertesol,

That's a fantastic question! To help you better, we’d love to get a bit more information from you. Here are a few friendly questions that could help us out:

  • 1. What style of property do you have? Is it a detached, semi-detached, or terraced home?
  • 2. What type of heating system are you using right now? Do you have gas central heating or a heat pump?
  • 3. Have you or any previous owners updated the windows, or are they the original ones?
  • 4. How is your insulation set up at the moment?

Just so you know, the biggest source of heat loss is usually through the roof, which can let out up to 25% of your home's warmth. Windows, on the other hand, typically lose around 10-15%. We can't wait to hear back from you with more details!
