Help with a gas boiler please!

Hi. I really hope someone can help me. We have a gas boiler in our flat in Dorchester in Dorset but spend half our lives in South Africa. Whenever we return after a couple of months the boiler has switched off and we have no hot water. I then have to pay to get someone out to restart the boiler every time. This is really expensive! Can anyone help, either by telling me how to get the boiler to not switch off, or give me instructions as to how to start it myself, or perhaps point me to a YouTube video that will teach me. I’m well into my 70s and not very technical. I’d even pay someone to come round and teach me!:) Many thanks to anyone who takes the trouble of giving me some assistance!

I would suggest you put the name of the boiler into You Tube and see what results you get back.

What is your make and model of your boiler and the approximate year of installation? I could have a search on your behalf if you like and see what I can find. Quite often you are not the only person to have this issue so there should be info somewhere.

Your operating manual might also have some guidance on the matter. Sometimes there is a fault finding guide at the back to help you

Do come back if you need to.

Peter
