Cannot create a second account

OVO website seems to be useless. I already have ovo account with my email and password and can log onto my online account; I have another property and already have OVO account number but it does not let me create a second online account. when I type in my email ir keeps taking me to my original account; there is no drop down accounts as per their help page; even typing the second account no. in the user ID does not allow it. There customer is is even more useless as they take hours to answer or they dont help you to create the second online account. Thanks

If I recall correctly you need a different email address for each OVO account.

I don’t have different emails;

Ovo website says you can use same email to create 2 accounts.

Ovo should have corrected and updated the instructions, but it seems they have not.

Things if thus nature us the responsibility of Ivo and not us as users abd seems they are simply passing the buck

Not necessarily. After I sign in on my phone, I always have to negotiate this screen:
 

Fat fingers often manage to hit one of the navigation buttons at the bottom ...

Some companies do (or did) that. For example, when I was Three Mobile customer, I had to create a separate email for using their home internet. But, as Firedog said, it’s not the case with OVO. They say it here: https://www.ovoenergy.com/help/article/multiple-accounts

Thanks for unearthing that article. It’s a bit long in the tooth (e.g. the “exciting transition to a new online system” started in about 2018 or 2019, and accounts created in the new system don’t have an ‘OVO ID’ like they did before). Perhaps ​@Ben_OVO or someone could contact those responsible to suggest an update.

Welcome to the OVO Forum ​@balwant22 and thanks for your post. You can absolutely have two or more accounts under the same email address, however the accounts have to be manually linked under the same customer identity. This isn’t done automatically due to security. All you need to do is contact our Support Team, provide the two account details, and request that the second account be linked to the one that holds your email address.

 

This is a really quick job that can be done over a quick phone call / email / webchat and, once completed, you’ll be able to select between the two accounts, like in the screenshot Firedog has added above. This guide also details the process:
