Power Move

Since the beginning of this month I have no idea what my power move record is. The app permanently says "not enough data to display" on the dashboard. I've looked at the usage page and it's showing me how much electricity has been used every day so why isnt there enough data to show me how many entries to this months draw so far?

Is anyone make sense of their progress % shown on the Power Move dashboard (on the OVO app) since 1/3/25? I keep a spreadsheet which has more or less agreed with the dashboard in the past but this month it’s quite a bit out. Also, does anyone know when the % that’s updated on a Monday after 8pm, is that the % upto midnight on the day before? Thank you

NOTE: this requires a few steps and you need to create a bookmark with the code in it below so it might not be for everyone. I’ve created a javascript program that uses data from Ovo’s data api to try and work out your current and previous month’s target. It’s as ugly as hell but does the trick. The javascript is also ugly as I wanted it to minify as best as possible so everything is global. If somebody wants to check over the code to make sure it’s not malicious then please do and comment as if I knew nothing about javascript and somebody asked me to do this I’d be like no thankyou! hi all newly switched to ovo on 4th march and joined the beyond offers, but cant seem to join power move, when i click to agree and accept, it says cant update your settings, check connection and try again, and not getting anywhere with support chat. any idea what im missing? i have smart meters. is it ebcause my usage isnt showing gas yet? do i need to wait a lil longer after switch? thanks

Hi For the second week running my Monday power move update gives my average usage 5.08 % and that I’ll get 9 entries into the draw BUT as far as I can see according to the Power Move FAQ’s, 5 to 6% should get me 10 entries. ( My partner, also on Ovo today has 5.99% and gets 10 entries) Anyone else getting this / or know what is happening for me??

Is anyone else having issues entering power move on the app I was already on before the updated version on Feb 1st When trying to join on app now saying "We couldn't update your settingsCheck your connection and try again" Tried deleting app and restarting but without success Thanks in advance Stuart

Apparently I didn’t meet the target in September, strange as was away for 2 weeks..🤣

OK, here’s an interesting one for someone at OVO to explain, and sort. Courtesy of “Eowyn” I had no electricity from just before 1600 on Friday until just before 0800 on Saturday as was the case with a large part of Argyll & Bute Council area (amongst others). I can’t praise SSEN engineers enough for getting out in the atrocious weather conditions and sorting the carnage that quick as well as laying on mobile food outlets. If you don’t believe me re the outage please refer to BBC news or SSEN! When I did my regular daily check of usage for Powermove via the OVO website yesterday it was showing that I had used 2.11 kwh for the day on Friday with nothing past 1600hrs (correct - I couldnt!). Imagine my surprise when logging in to check things today and I find although Friday is still showing no use after 1600, the daily figure has jumped to 4.80kWh with Saturday daily showing as 4.79 starting with 0.06kWh for 0730. Total for the 2 days 9.59kWh. Looking at hourly figures for both days Frid

Hi has anybody else had a similar outage? On the 11th of December my electricity smart meter stopped sending half hourly readings to OVO. Funnily enough my dad who is with EDF experienced the same outage in smart readings on the same day. Which now means I can’t take part in PowerMove. I’ve emailed OVO support and got the reply to wait 32 days to see if the meter will reset itself.

We have just had our power move flex roundup for the week 2 dec to 8 dec and they seem to have missed the event for 5 dec for which we moved approx 7.5Kw?

I did ask this question of OVO but never saw an answer. My wife and I thought about our energy usage a great deal, we took all the steps to save within the period 4-7pm. To be fair, we went over the top and switched almost every thing off, all that was running was the fridge x2 and the TV. It was a bit cold but we wrapped up as the heating was even turned off. It was a fruitless exercise. We never got below 18% of the daily target. I wasn’t going to use more energy in the rest of the day just to hit a target for what was quite a small recompense. I have signed up this time just in case by a miracle we hit the minutely sized increase in the %. We will just continue to be aware of our usage and our environmental obligations to try. I am sorry to sound so cynical but did see it as one big marketing exercise. Interested to see how others get on. We are a 4 bed household, 2 adults. Hi Cant believe its December already! Planning ahead (is setting up my nerdy tracking spreadsheet 😬) I’ve been trying to confirm that Christmas Day and Boxing Day will be exempt from the Power Move again this year. I was also wondering if they would count towards off peak time as weekends are this time.

I don’t like Direct Debit because I’ve had bad experiences with trying to get refunds for over-charges. I’m a 73 year old pensioner who has managed his monthly payments for the last 55 years, so don’t need anyone to manage if for me. The (electricity only) Simpler plan I’m on attracts higher tariffs and while I disagree with the reasoning, I have to accept that this is the way things are done. I was very impressed with the Power Move Summer Challenge, and while my household doesn’t use a lot of electricity, we strived to move what we could to off-peak. I just received a confirmation email that my efforts resulted in me being within the top 10% of customers who took part, and was eagerly looking forward to the winter challenge to see how much saving I could accumulate. However, I just discovered that Power Move is now restricted to only Direct Debit Customers, so I am out. Much to my surprise, but with iron discipline - I have successfully hit the FULL TARGET for my November Power Move Challenge! I have earned £12 off my next electricity bill - at a 6.87% rate during peak times!

Just realised I haven’t received any update from my Power Move progress, checked online and turns out it’s all been transferred to the app. Fine with me but would’ve been nice to know. Thing is, there’s nothing about Power Move in there? Fairly sure I meet the requirements, Smart meter, single rate, half hourly readings. Can anyone shed some light on this one please?

Is anyone having trouble with asking the Alexa App.to open (launch) Ovo Power Nap. I used to be able to open it, but it now stopped.

I joined up to power move and every week it's saying not enough data sent... but I can clearly see there is all the data on my app and also I have set up half hourly readings to be sent... is there really any point in the power move or is it all just a big con??

Why does the app tell me my smart metre didn't send enough data when I can still see my daily half hour usage every day up until now - Sunday? (Just a point out, I have half hourly readings for every day since the beginning which is over a year)

I’m signed up to the Power Move Up/Down events. Ultimately the purpose of this is to save carbon, with hopefully some financial incentives too(!) Just been wondering… like the blockchain debate, has OVO / anyone else worked out the carbon footprint of all of the emails being generated, distributed and stored on servers. Is that taken into account with the overall figures…? Does it negate the good action being done at all? Just curious…
