WHD notification letters query.

Can someone have a word with OVO’s Administration Department?

 

I had already noticed that my Warm Home Discount had been put onto my OVO account while I was submitting meter reads via my online account, earlier in October.


Today - 3 November 2026 - I had 2 letters from OVO come through the door.
One notifying me that I had been granted the Warm Home Discount, and the other notifying me that it had been paid onto my account.

Both letters were dated 20 October, and have only just arrived.

Seems a long time between them being printed out, dispatched and arriving through my door, and a bit weird that both notification and confirmation letters were sent out on the same day.

    That’s more likely Royal Mail being a snail again!

    OVO isn’t the only place I’ve had that with...

      That’s probably the first thing I would have said, but my monthly bill always arrives within a couple of days of being sent out.

      Hi ​@DaveThorn76 I’ve checked internally, and we don’t currently have any internal postal issues. I’m sorry to hear the letter came so late. I’m not sure where you’re based, but I’m up in Glasgow and our post has been really late recently. I’ve heard that Royal Mail have been experiencing delays recently - there’s a few different news articles about it.

        That seems about par for the course for Royal Mail currently in most parts of the country.

        My mail arrives all in one bunch about fortnightly.

        RM deny that they are ‘saving up’ letters like that but everybody know that they are concentrating on parcel deliveries (because that’s where the bigger profits are) and letter mail has all become 4th class no matter what class stamp is on it.

        Rant over.
