Are these scam text messages?

Hi @Nell.tieri ,

They do look genuine to me. Please call OVO Collections on 0800 069 9831 to resolve this one - they’re best placed to look into it.

I’ve looked up that number on “who is…” and found these comments so yes it does seem to be dodgy:

Oops @Blastoise186 one of us must be right 😄

I do not like the look of that URL link at all.

“paybylink.ovoenergy, com” does not look genuine to me.
I would NOT click on that link.

Websearch AI agrees, although AI’s can get things wrong:

I’ll flag this thread for moderator attention so that they can check things internally at OVO.

Thanks all - I’ve tried calling that number but it’s just silent. I tried the main support line but they were very confused and kept asking me for an account number and I was like “I don’t have an account!!!!” So still struggling!

I've received a text today (screenshot attached) claiming I owe money, and that the last email I received would explain more. I haven't received any emails.

Any advice on how to follow up? Or if this is genuine.

Hi @Ray92 ,

It appears legit to me. Please call 0800 069 9831 for help with that - the Collections Team can resolve this for you.

Hey @Ray92

Glad to see one of our community members have already stopped by with some helpful advice.

If you’ve not done so already, I’d definitely recommend getting in touch with the team.

Just to check, have you ever received emails from OVO? If you’re not receiving the emails, or can’t view that last email they’ve mentioned, it’ll be worth double checking the email address is correct on the account, if it needs updated, the Support Team will be able to assist with that:
