Access to restricted area

Good morning all!

We are an AC company and have a customer who requires unit replaced. The problem is that the outdoor unit was installed (probably with no permission) into a restricted area with SSE stickers of no entry all over it. What is the best way to request access to said area for removal of the system? Need to do things properly and can’t seem to get through to anyone helpful.

I hope you’re doing well. I just wanted to clarify what you mean by “restricted area.” Are you talking about an AC unit in a neighboring property, or are you referring to a business AC unit?

Hi Chris!

The outdoor unit is installed into a fenced SSE area that prohibits entry. We’re just trying to figure out who to contact to get in there for a few hours to remove unit. I’ll try SSE as well.

It sounds like SSE should be able to help you out with this, unless it involves a distribution substation or a transmission site. If that's the case, you might need to reach out to the local DNO for access.
