'A little help with your heating' not working on app?

I note the sign up button has now appeared on the link for the new beyond free winter heating customer initiative on the App.

As a qualifying electricity only customer I have clicked on the sign up button and received no acknowledgement of registration nor any email acknowledging registration. Is the button not yet live? Or does a single click on the sign up button suffice. Be good to know I’m definitely in. Many thanks for any update.

It’s called “A little help with your heating” and is a scheme based on your GAS usage.

It is free Gas NOT free electricity.

If you are an electricity only customer you can still take part, and get an equivalent credit each month, see below.

For gas customers it will give you a choice of a 2-hour slot each week where you can use up to 5 kWh of GAS for FREE in each of the 2-hours. So up to 10 kWh of gas free each week.
You will be charged initially for the gas used but will then get a credit on your bill next month for your free hours this month.

If you are an electricity only customer then you still need to pick a 2=hour spot each week.
You will then be given the equivalent standard cost of 10 kWh of gas for each 2-hour slot that you pick.
That’s 63p per slot chosen.
So electricity only customers can simply pick a slot each week for 4 weeks and get a £2.52 credit the next month. Which isn’t bad for remembering to tap a few buttons once a week.

It does seem odd for what is ostensibly a gas based scheme. -  but it’s much easier for an electricity only customer to get the maximimum possible reward, and so get rewarded more than a gas user could. 

It is only available in the App.

I get “There was an error updating your slot...” error when I try to confirm my slot choice.

Many thanks, but after a number of attempts, both closing and reopening the app each time, I have managed to book my first slot!!

Mine isn’t working. I tried and the option is just grey. It won’t let me click on it at all. How am I meant to get the free slots if it won’t even work??

Still not working. It’s how finished completely from the list after deleting and reinstalling the app 🙄

Now it’s back after closing and reopening but still grey. How is this helpful. I can’t even benefit from this 😩

If it’s grey, you’ve not activated it yet - you need to tap that and enable it.

I can’t tap it. It won’t do a thing. This is the problem I am having. I have tried multiple times. Even deleted and reinstalled the app. It will not do a thing tapping it

@Chris_OVO can you help please? Tried chatting to support and it’s not even connecting or getting a response. I want to utilise the free 2 hours and I can’t even click on it to activate it let alone pick slots.

Great response from customer service…not. App is already the latest version with no updates available and its app only offer which means they can’t do anything…fantastic service. Not

I had that problem, I had to click on the tip,  for example how to bleed your radiators etc scroll to end and that activated the button
