Why is OVO Charge app not recognising car as plugged in?

Hi, I have used the new OVO Charge app a few times before without any issues. Since early this week the OVO Charge app is not recognising that the car is plugged in. The car sticks on the initialising stage, and the blue light on the charger is flashing like the initialising stage, but no charge seems to be releasing as the app still states ‘plug in vehicle to begin charging’.

I have never used the OVO anytime app as still fairly new to EV’s. I have a Jaguar Ipace and an Evec charger.

I have also emailed the OVO charge email address and not had a response since Monday. I am now having to charge away from home costing a lot of extra money.

I have also tried deleting both Evec and OVO charge app’s and reinstalling and still no joy.

Any help would be great fully appreciated.

Hi Blastoise186,

After much faffing about, I decided to remove my Evec charger from my Ovo charge account and re add it. This thankfully worked and it started charging last night.

The error happened after my Ovo Charge app was updated, hopefully this doesn’t happen again.

I don’t get much time during the days to call the team due to work and not being home with the equipment, a bit disappointed though that a week later I’ve still not got a response from them.

Thanks for your comment though 👍🏻

You can download OVO Charge from the App Store (for iOS) or Google Play (for Android).

Hi @SarahEV ,

Sounds like you need to have a word with the team directly. Try 0330 175 9678 on Monday and they’ll dig the logs.

@SarahEV I’m so happy to hear that it’s all working now as it should, and hopefully it says that way!

Sorry that you haven’t heard back from the team - hopefully they should get back to you about it soon, even if it is now fixed.

Please do get back in touch if you have any other account issues, be it EV related or anything else!
