Why can't I with smart charge with my Volvo EX30 and waEV1s charger?

I’m in the process of buying a Volvo EX30. I have a waEV1s charger which works well with my BMW iX1 and the OVO charge anytime app.

According to the OVO website an EX30 is not compatible with the charge anytime app. The website says I have to connect my charger to my OVO account. There was a link on here somewhere that told you how to do it but after getting to the devices page the only options were for the car not the charger. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Hey @Oldlaw,

At the moment, the Volvo EX30 and waev1 aren't compatible with Charge Anytime! We're always working on adding new vehicle models, so your Volvo might be included in the future.

In the meantime, you can check out more about our compatible vehicles and chargers here.

I’ve managed to charge the Volvo with the app that the charger came with, but the go anywhere app didn’t come into play. I only needed to charge the car 5% so not much of an experiment but it did work.
It does appear that I got the charge at a cheap rate. Once more I would like to thank everyone for their help.😉

Hey @Oldlaw,

I’m so glad to hear that you were able to charge the car without any issues! If you have any questions about OVO Charge Anywhere, don’t hesitate to reach out to the team—they’re really helpful and can give you personalised advice based on your account.

Has this info helped you decide what you want to do next?

I’ll also tag @SarahEV and @Blastoise186 so they can see your appreciation.

As the smart charge from my ev charger seems to be working i will still use it with Ovo, If I have to leave Ovo, I would need to pay a £100 leaving fee, I would probably go with Eon.
