which charger and other questions

Based on what we’ve seen, Hypervolt is probably the one you’ll want if you’re going for a Charger listed at https://www.ovoenergy.com/electric-cars/smart-charger , but you can explore others that OVO supports too - the full list is at https://www.ovoenergy.com/electric-cars/charge-anytime-cars-and-chargers but just a heads up that EVEC has had to pause for a bit while they get their integration fixed.

Hypervolt has to date basically been the most rock solid Charger we’ve seen discussed on the Forum as the product is pretty bulletproof, the OVO integration is robust and their Support Team are incredibly good - for example, they actively work with Forum Volunteers such as myself when needed to help get faster answers. NexBlue are also proving to be a really good option if you want something a bit cheaper though so I’d definitely check them out too.

OVO can help with installing Hypervolt as they’re an approved/partner installer and some of OVO’s own engineers are trained to do EV Charger installs - we actually have one of them on the Forum too! :)

Just to make you fully aware, NexBlue doesn’t currently have that partner installer arrangement with OVO right now, but they’d be more than happy to help you find an approved installer within their own network

However, if you plan to supplier hop, go Hypervolt as they seem to be the most widely supported - you’d just disconnect from the old supplier and reconnect with the new one.

In terms of Charge Anytime/Charge Anywhere, that’s fine - you can ignore the Charge Anywhere part and either pick a Pay Monthly Plan to just use the home charging benefits OR go Pay As You Go which will charge to your OVO Bill on an A La Carte basis. Just so you’re aware, the PAYG method works on a rebate basis - the full amount is charged upfront and OVO then applies a rebate once a month to bring it back down to the discounted rate - the end result is you will pay the correct rates.
