Just got a new Dacia Spring. We have a charger to be installed next week and it isn’t an Ovo one. At present, the Spring isn’t listed as a model that is compatible with Charge Anytime. Is there any indication of when (or if) it might be added to the list?

Hi @Dacia Driver ,

What Charger do you have?

None as yet: it’s being installed on Thursday. But it’s not one listed by Ovo - I think it’s an Eclipse.

I see.

At the moment, Dacia isn’t supported by upstream tools that OVO Charge Anytime - and basically every other Smart Charging setup - relies on, so I can’t say if/when it will ever be supported. It’s very much dependent on whether Dacia ever agrees to allow that to happen. Just because the parent company Renault allows it, doesn’t mean Dacia will.

Hey @Dacia Driver,

Congratulations on your new EV 🎉 How are you enjoying it so far?

As @Blastoise186 has pointed out it we’re in talks with EV manufacturers and we’re adding more and more different vehicles to the compatible EV list. At this moment there’s no news on Dacia being added but that doesn’t mean they’ll never have compatible models. This would mean that you would need a compatible charger which again we’re always welcoming on new brands and models.

I don’t know if you’ve seen OVO Beyond but we have an offer for free miles if you buy a charger through OVO. You’ll find more information on this here.

If you have any further questions let us know!

Many thanks, @Blastoise186 and @Chris_OVO. Hopefully the Spring will become a compatible EV. For a number of reasons, our new charger will not be one of the ones on the compatible charger list, or at least I don’t think it is, so we will have to crunch some numbers and see what our best option is.
