What's the best way to set up two Indra Smart Pro chargers?

Can two Indra Smart Pro chargers each be fitted with their own CT clamp on the same incoming meter tail, allowing independent load curtailment on a single-phase installation, or do the chargers require a dedicated multi-charger load-sharing configuration?

Good afternoon,

Regarding your question about running two Indra Smart Pro chargers on a single-phase supply: yes, this is possible with each charger using its own CT clamp on the same incoming meter tails for independent load curtailment.

On a single-phase installation:
- Each charger can independently monitor the total load on the supply using its own CT clamp and will adjust its charging rate as needed to protect the main fuse.
- Each CT clamp should be installed at the main supply, before any junctions, and as close to the main cut-out fuse as possible, with the arrows facing the grid (incoming supply).

With this setup, both chargers will independently perform load curtailment based on the total current measured by their own CT clamps, so there is no requirement for a dedicated multi-charger load-sharing configuration in this scenario.

I asked the Charge Anytime team about this, they said that based on Indra's published installation guidance and how the load-curtailment function works, two Indra Smart PRO chargers can each have their own CT clamp fitted around the same incoming meter tail, provided each CT is installed correctly and each charger is configured independently for load curtailment. However, they would recommend reaching out to Indra as our installers do not install these chargers and it is best to check with them directly.

    As ​@Abby_OVO said, you need to speak to Indra as there are different tunes you can play with two charge points but it comes down to how you want to share the 32A (7kW) between the two cars.

        ​@Onoff Thanks for reproducing the information from Indra. It looks to be sufficiently comprehensive to put into practice. I still have a slight niggle though about load sharing in terms of whether one unit will hog the power leaving the other vehicle not charging at all. However, looking at another unit (Wallbox Pulsar Plus) the load sharing appears to be done through the app which I hadn’t considered and it perhaps also allows you to prioritise one car over another if required.
