OVO App cannot wake up Skoda Elroq

Yes, not an uncommon experience with VW group cars - I simply set charge targets that mean there’s minimal chance of stop/start style charging - if I need 10kWh for example, I give it a target time that’s 90-120 minute in the future so it’s unlikely to stop charging long enough to go to sleep, or frequently enough to enable the 12v battery protection.

If I plug in after work, it’s rare i’ll set a target any later than 10:30pm-11pm. If I set say 5am-6am when I need to actually leave for work, most of the time the charge fails at some point overnight.

Sorry to hear of this issue. In a way it’s good that this is a known issue, as that may mean there’s more chance of being fixed more quickly. Did the Charge Anytime team tell you if there’s any workaround for this? 

Which charger do you use? If it’s one that’s compatible with Charge Anytime, then you could go through the charger instead of the car, which would alleviate this issue. You can view the compatible chargers here.

 - I believe started setting shorter ‘ready by’ times as per my suggestion above to avoid the charging process stopping and starting and allowing the car to enter sleep mode.

Hi, yes we had this problem with my husband’s Kodiaq PHEV. As mentioned above, the only way we could get it to charge fully was to restrict the “ready by” time to a really short period, eg two hours after plugging in. That way the charge isn’t interrupted as the software knows it needs to keep going to have any chance of the car being fully charged by the ready time.

However, about 6-8 weeks ago, my husband’s car received an over the air update from Skoda. After the update, he noticed a few general improvements in the car. We decided to see if it had made any difference to charging, and sure enough the Ovo Charge now seems to work as intended, stopping and starting the charge without the problem of the car going to sleep and not waking up to resume charging.

​@Ben_OVO, I have an Easee One charger so it acts as a pass through to the car. 

The OVO anytime team only suggested making sure the car was awake. No workarounds were suggested. 

​@Snuggles, the Elroq is on the latest version so fingers crossed a future update comes along. Great news your husband's car is now working with the OVO app.
