Mercedes Me and Charge Anytime issues- Not receiving verification code

Forum|alt.badge.img

The app was working fine for a few months, but today I received a notification that the car was not connected to the app and needed to be reconnected. I tried to reconnect, but I am not receiving an email from Mercedes with the verification code. I have not encountered this issue before. I have checked my Mercedes me login, email, and junk folder. Do you have any other suggestions?

To update all Forum Members who are part of the Mercedes / Beta Pilot:

This is still a pilot, and some issues - like the 50% total charge problem - may take time to resolve. As a result, the Charge Anytime team is unable to provide further updates at this time.

If the limitations you're experiencing outweigh the benefits of the Charge Anytime add-on, we recommend leaving the pilot for now while we work on improving the service.

We’re sorry for any frustration this may cause. Please keep an eye on the Forum for updates - we’ll share any new developments as soon as we have them.

You can exit the Mercedes Beta Pilot at any time by taking the following steps:

  • Open the OVO Charge Anytime app
  • Click on the "Account" tab in the bottom right
  • Click on the User icon in the top left
  • Click the "Delete account" link
  • Select a reason for leaving and click "Continue"
  • Your app account will now be deleted and there will be no further connection or interaction between your car and the OVO system
  • Note: You will still be credited for any smart charging that you have done up to this point

My Mercedes app works now, and I can reconnect to the OVO charge anytime, thank you all for useful comments

I’m having exactly the same issue today… all the apps are up to date, etc.  Just no verification email…. super frustrating.

so frustrating, having to charge at full rate right now as my car randomly dropped off the app.

i spoke to Mercedes just now and they have said it’s an OVO issue.

I suspect it’s because Mercedes Me doesn’t appear to offer a ‘login with TAN code’ option anymore ….. and the Charge Anytime app development team didn’t get the memo..

I’ve got same issue - deleted car and tried to re-add, not receiving verification code.  I changed my email on Mercedes Me and got a verification code straight away.

So did that solve it for you? Able to log in to Charge Anytime now?

This morning my dashboard on charge anytime app shown that their connection with my car has expired, I tried to reconnect many times but I could not get 6 digits from Mercedes app ( I seem to me like kaluza could not recognize my car’s  app, I never received text or email to get 6 digits for further process), I do not know what to do, also I could not set charge my car from my vehicle’s app, note that my car is Mercedes 250+ full electric, thank you

I received an email from Mercedes advising they’re changing their Data Protection rules from 26 Feb earlier today and at the same time I received a notification from the OVO app saying that my car is no longer connected to the anytime app. My friend has had the EXACT same issue today. Does Amy know what’s happened or how I fix. Have tried all the suggested fixes but nothing works. Thank you

Is there some issue with Anytime OVO and Mercedes? I can’t seem to charge the car under this tariff but it will happily charge when I override at their higher tariff?

Tried a few times to charge it using OHME charging point at their 7p rate but seems to cut out at an 8% charge

OVO team please can you let us know what the issue is with Mercedes and Anytime charge?

Looks like this is an upstream issue: https://status.enode.com/incidents/01JJYPX05P14F7NBFPH7XXB9DJ

I will fling this backstage for Forum Moderator attention and will alert the Charge Anytime team ASAP.

Please bear with me - you’ll get an update here as soon as we have one. Gonna tag this as an answer temporarily for better visibility. Please don’t panic - we’ll update the thread with a more permanent solution when we have one for you.

Hiya!

I’m escalating this to the Forum Moderators and the Charge Anytime team as a priority. For the root cause, it seems to be this: https://status.enode.com/incidents/01JJYPX05P14F7NBFPH7XXB9DJ

We’ll keep you posted either via this temporary answer or via a more permanent solution when we know more.

If you have a supported Charger, we recommend you connect to Charge Anytime via that instead of via the EV - Ohme, Indra, Hypervolt and Anderson are all supported so should work fine.

Please note that while Enode say “An incident has caused an increased number of unreachable Mercedes vehicles. Affected users have to re-link their vehicles to the Enode platform.” it is actually impossible right now to re-link the vehicle, because no verification code is ever received.  Hence it isn’t as trivial as they appear to think it is.

Yeah, definitely looks that way! I’ll let you know when I know more.

Sorry I can’t help any further right now but I’m on my own today as all my contacts take weekends off.

Thank you for your advice, now for temporary charging a car, I put 240 volt extension into the main socket as a wall charger did not pair with the car, for this I would get charge as a standard rate instead of cheap tariff , so do I need to contact OVO team on Monday for this issue in order to get a refund,I have also contacted Mercedes app officer , and been told that they will look into the technical matter and let me know.

Hi thank you, I am going to annoy you as I am not tech savvy but what your saying is that there is some known fault with the API- communication to the App?

I have a supported charger, but I have a tethered charger from the wall so no other option but to you this. Again sorry if I am being silly.

Can live with it for now as it’s a hybrid car, are you saying it will get updated after some bug fixes and should work again?

Thank you again

Yes, I suspect it’s an API issue that the team needs to look into. I’ll let them know as soon as I can but it won’t be possible until Monday as that’s when they’re next in.

Hi Blastoise186

Thank you so much for the feedback and escalating this to the Forum Moderators. I’m a complete novice to how this all works as this is my first electric car and only had it 6 weeks!

Do you know how I reconnect my car to Enode? I’ve googled it but it’s not clear.

My home charger is a Podpoint and there’s nothing wrong with that so fortunately I can still charge. My frustration is it will be at a much higher rate than it should and will I be reimbursed for the overcharge or perhaps a full credit for the bad experience and lack of support!

Forum|alt.badge.img

same problem for me this morning - can't use the ChargeAnytime app now.

Can someone official from OVO look at this and at least say you are trying to sort it , it makes a massive difference to people’s bills with your app not working . Mercedes have told me it’s at your end not theirs

Same issue here. Did changing email address work for anyone else? I’ve tried using email and SMS verification but no codes received.
