How do Indra app and OVO Charge Anytime app work together?
I have an Indra Smart Pro charger which I can control using the Indra Web app. I recently installed the Charge Anytime app and connected it to my car. Both are based on Kaluza but are seemingly different, although they both claim to charge at the times electricity is more renewable.
If I set a different "ready by" time in each, which one wins?
I've also plugged in my car this evening, and the Indra app says it's plugged in but not yet charging, and the Charge Anytime app says the car is unplugged! I need the car to be charged by the morning so I'll have to keep my eye on that. I've also noticed that I've not had any data from the smart meter since Thursday morning so perhaps that has something to do with it?

I haven't installed the anytime app, is there any advantage to it?
Yes it gives you EV charging at 10p per unit, if you have a compatible car and charger. Well worth it.
I've got the indra and the addon already, just wondered what it added?

Hi @stead@FatOldSun and thanks for posting about this.
The Charge Anytime app is used for direct to vehicle (D2V) control. Where a customer has an eligible vehicle but does not have an eligible charger, they should use the D2V app. Where a customer has an eligible charger (regardless of whether or not their vehicle is eligible), they should use the charger app.
The difference between the two at the moment is that the D2V customer will see savings in their D2V app, whilst the charger customer can see savings in a page called “Your EV” in the My OVO account.
If a customer has an eligible charger and has downloaded the D2V app, they are likely to be setting schedules in multiple apps which will cause a conflict in commands being sent to charge the battery. As a result they may miss their ready by times and will probably not be able to reconcile their Charge Anytime credits.
For anyone else wondering about Charge Anytime, look no further:
Hope this helps
Thanks Tim. I’ve e-mailed your support team as I have exactly the same setup as you describe. I firstly downloaded the app and linked my Skoda to it. I’ve now linked my Indra using your website, which gives me the ability to charge any car, not just the Skoda. Now I want to disconnect my Skoda from the app and remove the app, so I revert back to just using the Indra app. I have some credit against my Skoda charging so also need that to be transferred to my Indra account, if that’s possible?

Thanks Tim, that’s where I sent my e-mail to so I’ll wait for the reply.
Hi
I’ve just had an Indra charger installed on the basis its on the OVO site as one they support with cheap energy rates.
The Indra charger is set up on the app and I’ve followed all the links on the OVO website which say we are eligible until we come to the connect via Kaluza page. ( SEE BELOW)
I add my charger user name from Indra ( it has no password) therefore can someone assist on how I connect to energy tariff.
I follow the links but don’t seem to have a Password from my Indra charger App to insert in the Kaluza webpage. I’ve gone through the OVO process but can’t seem to make the link for the Indra charger to talk to the OVO smart metre
Thanks
All sorted. I removed the Charge Anytime app, so everything now goes through the Indra app. Just need to wait for Indra to get the go-ahead from Ovo to upgrade me to the new platform so I can take full advantage of solar matching. Looking at the weather forecast, this won’t be an issue for the next couple of weeks!
Thanks for confirming, @richhyder490.
I’ve been asked to request that you email our Smart Home team on smarthome@ovoenergy.com and include a picture of the QR code located on your Indra smart charger.
They’ll have a look into this for you.
Thanks,
Tim
I have exactly the same issue as @richhyder490. The Indra app doesn’t need a password when you set it up (just a verification email and it logs straight in) so no ability to enter an email and password at the Kaluza login prompt (even if you figure out magically that Kuzula login is actually asking for your Indra login details). So far today, smarthome@ovoenergy.com haven’t managed to sort me out. They have sent a password “reset” page for the Indra app, but as I never set a password in the first place, using the reset form just fails with an error. I have logged a call with Indra too.
This process is very disjointed, with multiple companies involved. I probably would have given up by now if it wasn’t going to save me so much money!
@richhyder490 what was the reason you didn’t have a password for this log in page? What did you do in order to log in? I’m hoping we can crowd source this one for @lee_surrey…
OK, here’s the workflow:
Log out of the Indra app using account settings page
From iPhone app Welcome page, choose “Login”
Type in email address and Submit
Now it says “check your email” with 3 little moving dots. So I check my email on my PC
There is an email saying “Validate contact details” when I click on the “Verfiy” link in my email, on my PC, the app on my iPhone automatically signs in and says “Email verfied”, “Continue”. Now I’m logged into the app. No password needed at any time in this process. No “change password” options in the app.
Thanks,
Lee.
Just as an update, I now just got this from Indra, which is far from satisfactory:
The new Indra app is not integrated with OVO charge anytime at the moment so you will need to revert back to using the web app (Kaluza). We are currently in the process of getting your charger back onto the Kaluza web based platform and as soon as this has been done you should be able to communicate with OVO how your tariff works with Kaluza. We will be in touch when this has been completed.
So now I have no idea how long I’m expected to wait, and meanwhile I’m boost charging the car at around £60 per month extra because I can’t get this Charge Anytime tariff.
Thanks for the update, @lee_surrey. It sounds like there’s an action that has to happen from Indra after you registered with them on their native app. Hopefully that doesn’t take long.
I appreciate this hasn’t been the best journey. I know there’s work happening to make this easier moving forwards.
Here’s the latest. Indra have now enrolled me on their older Indra App (it’s a web-based app used from a browser rather than an iOS or Android App). I just got this email from Indra as well as an enrollment email asking me to create a new password:
I can confirm that you charger is now on the Kaluza platform and that you have been sent a welcome email. As soon as the new app is fully integrated with the Charge Anytime tariff we will let all customers know.
I was then able to add my email adress and this new password to the Ovo SignUp page. If I browse to the Webapp: https://app.indra.co.uk/electric-vehicles it now seems to be working and if I go to the Ovo website and use “My EV” there seems to be telemetry coming in.
So basically, I’m sorted now. I would recommend anyone who has this sort of disjoined signup process to contact Indra and get them to enrol you on their older system for now.
Cheers,
Lee.
Just to clarify that the original Indra/kaluza app needs to be used for now until the latest Indra app has been updated.
The update will then require authentication rather than just an odd confirmation but Indra state that further functionality will be introduced with the newer, compliant and OVO compatible version of their phone app.
Timescales are possibly looking at a new app within a couple of months.
Solar matching can be used at present so even if the grid is yet to reach a green period during the set schedule there can be some charge from excess PV production rather than that going back to the grid.
Of course, it depends on how one gets paid for microgeneration but for some of us who are on FIT with deeming the more we can use the better so it could easily cut down how many kWh we end up importing and paying for. Others might find it better to sell as many kWh back to the grid but charge when the sun is absent getting the power used subsidised at the bill.

@Tim_OVO I have had the same issue with having both the Indra app, charge anytime app as the sign-up process didnt advise to not download if you have the indra app, car didnt charge overnight after set-up. I can see the ovo set-up is linked in my Indra account.
I have deleted my account for the Anytime Charge app this morning. however my car still shows on the Your EV tab in my online Ovo account. Is there anything further I need to do to remove the conflict?
Nice one, @Ks055 it sounds like we need to make the sign up journeys more clear for these two different routes.
Well done for removing the Anytime app. There may be some changes that OVO need to make behind the scenes. Email the team at smarthome@ovoenergy.com and I’ll also ask them for general advice on this and report back.
Just to circle back on this one, @Ks055,
When you use Charge Anytime via a smart charger you'll monitor your savings from the 'My EV' section in your OVO online account. If you were to link via your vehicle this information is displayed in the Charge Anytime app.
Hi. I am trying to sign up for this as well and have an Indra Smart Pro. I have spoken to the Indra people who tell me everything is as it should be from their side but I cannot log in to the https://accounts.flex.kaluza.com/ page which Ovo directs to. I have tried contacting support through that page but no-one is getting back to me.
