Charge Anytime - why won't it charge Mercedes 100%?

I just installed Charge Anytime for my Mercedes EQC 400.

I have it set on Min 50% and Max 100%.

My question:

Why can’t it just be set to a 100% charge, or even 95%? I don’t want it to only charge 50%. I’ve tried it twice and all I get the car charged is around 50% but I need the battery to be fully charge for my longer journeys. It’s quite stressful not knowing if I’ll have enough battery or not when I leave the house in the morning.

Is it meant to work like this? Why can’t I just set the % I want it charged at? The highest I can move the Min charge to is 50%. I’ve contacted OVO but they’re not getting back to me.

Thanks.

To update all Forum Members who are part of the Mercedes / Beta Pilot:

This is still a pilot, and some issues - like the 50% total charge problem - may take time to resolve. As a result, the Charge Anytime team is unable to provide further updates at this time.

If the limitations you're experiencing outweigh the benefits of the Charge Anytime add-on, we recommend leaving the pilot for now while we work on improving the service.

We’re sorry for any frustration this may cause. Please keep an eye on the Forum for updates - we’ll share any new developments as soon as we have them.

You can exit the Mercedes Beta Pilot at any time by taking the following steps:

  • Open the OVO Charge Anytime app
  • Click on the "Account" tab in the bottom right
  • Click on the User icon in the top left
  • Click the "Delete account" link
  • Select a reason for leaving and click "Continue"
  • Your app account will now be deleted and there will be no further connection or interaction between your car and the OVO system
  • Note: You will still be credited for any smart charging that you have done up to this point

Hi @Katja , the Min setting is meant to indicate a low level for the EV so that it begins to charge if below this on connection.
The Max is often lower than 100% as the batteries do not like being held at that level - your manual should tell you if this is right for your EV.
You should indeed get a higher charge level if you’ve set a ready by time.
Did you email the tech team?

Hi what’s the update on this please? I never used to have any issues charging to 100% overnight, however in the past couple of months I now have to keep changing the Mercedes app or in car level manually to 100%? Once the car charges to 50% it then stops which is highly frustrating as I know the day I need to drive my frequent work trip of 176 miles I’ll forget to check! Thanks

Hey @DDwyer,

Welcome to our community 😊

Unfortunately, there hasn't been any progress yet, and it's still an ongoing issue we're aware of. Mercedes is continuing to be part of our beta trial and is working towards full integration. Until that happens, we might still see some similar issues continuing. We appreciate your patience and understanding, and if we hear any updates, we’ll make sure to share them on the Forum. This is something we’ve been keeping a close eye on, and we’ll keep you posted!
