Just got mine : Avoid using non-essential electricity between 5pm and 6:30pm on Wednesday 29 November and for every kWh you shift below your target, you’ll receive £1 towards your energy bill….and my target is 0.1kWh  - don't think I’m gonna be rich lol! BUT i will be helping :)

If it's only just been announced it will take the companies time to get into gear.

I guess that's part of why we are having the test events, to see how quickly the companies react with no prior notice.

This one seems to be a ‘not really needed this time but a situation where it might be at sometime ‘

Might it be an idea to specify the date (and time) in the title? Otherwise, this post will be both out of date and perhaps misleading in just a few hours’ time ⏰

Got my email now so thats a reasonable response time by OVO.

Unfortunately mine is also a 0.1 kWh target so I won't be opting in.

Yes I realused and tried to add to it but couldn't edit the title. (You need moderator permissions to do that).

I don't think it matters too much as it will just fall down the board once the event is over.

Edit, I've asked if a mod would kindly change it it for me.

Edir2, thanks mods.

My target this time is the same as last time - but over a period 50% longer, meaning it’s 50% harder to reach. Add to that that the reward is only 1/3 of what it was last time, I’m not sure I’ll bend over backwards to save a maximum of 10p.

After being rewarded 3p for reducing usage by 0.01 kwh last time (target 0.1kwh) my target for tomorrow is 0.2kwh...........sigh!

Can I turn off the big red switch in the kitchen during the allotted time? Not sure, but I think only the fridge/freezer, microwave and oven are served from it so that could help (wall sockets inaccessible). Other than that, only reading lamp, Internet connection and freezer in the shed are 'live'.

These “Plus” events are obviously not a real option for us low users.

There again it's about cutting high use in an emergency and so cutting an already low use isn't the point of the excercise.

On the bright side my standard Power Move is currently at under 7% for November so that's helping reduce peak demand anyway. (Not to mention another £15 in the bag which will offset the standing charge).
