Hey @alexmac

As Blastoise186 has already mentioned, the events aren’t set by us so the events change based on what the National Grid set out. It’s all part of the CrowdFlex project, sponsored by energy regulator OFGEM and electricity grid operator ESO.

There’s more on this on the Power Move Flex webpage, as well as the related Forum topic which I’ve included below:

https://forum.ovoenergy.com/power-move-flex-165/want-to-know-more-about-power-move-flex-17718

There’s also a detailed page with the full terms for Power Move Flex that may be of use to you too.

Hope this helps.🙂

Power Move Flex doesn’t have a fixed “timetable” as such. It’s dynamic so you’ll need to adapt based on the individual Events.

Are these events publicised on a “need to know” basis?  As you’ll have guessed from my previous posts I’m thoroughly confused having (I think) signed up to half hour meter reading and whatever the latest challenge is, but not yet “Beyond” as (despite assurances to the contrary from people with amazing names on this forum) the OVO App on my iPhone still says “free for 3 months then £6pm)..?

OVO Beyond is free these days - that specific text is scheduled to be removed in the next few weeks. However, that’s a discussion for the main area of the Forum. :)

The events themselves aren’t necessarily determined by OVO, but by National Grid ESO. OVO doesn’t get tons of advance notice I’m afraid - they can be fairly short notice and only once that comes through can they give you a heads up.

Dear Abbey; ah- so all is now clear; despite signing up (I thought) for this and enabling (I hope) half hourly readings, I see from your weblink that this is a special promo for the best class of people;

(QUOTE)“You’ll also need to have a smart meter set to half hourly smart meter readings... We’ve been inviting eligible customers … we’ll let you know if you’ve successfully joined… we can’t guarantee a space…  randomly select a "control group" who won’t take part in any events... there’s a chance you won’t be rewarded”

Ah well; the story of my life;

“why am I always the Bridesmaid, never the blushing Bride” (to quote the 1920s Lilly Morris song)!

No problem; us grumpy 78 year old know all about ageism and social isolation...  As the Who sang in their  epic 1965 song Talkin' 'bout my generation;

“People try to put us down# Just because we get around #

Things they do look awful c-c-cold# hope I die before I get old#

talkin' 'bout my generation#… (Pete Townshend)
