I've recently signed up for power move. The eligibility criteria include 'credit meter'. We have a smart meter that sends readings half hourly but pay by monthly direct debit. What I've read about credit meters sound like prepayment meters. I was allowed to sign up for power move but will my efforts not count if I pay monthly by direct debit rather than on a prepayment basis?

I have an account that pays by direct debit (fixed amount per month). I just joined in September and the account received a credit. Eventually I will  probably have to reduce the fixed amount I pay.

You are eligible. Smart Meters running in Credit Mode with Half-Hourly Readings linked to an account with an active Direct Debit definitely qualify. The same applies to Pay On-Demand accounts, provided the other prerequisites are in place i.e. Smart Meter in Credit Mode with Half-Hourly Readings.

Unfortunately, Prepayment customers aren’t eligible right now - I think OVO might try to unlock it for them in the future.
