Smart meter sudden change of tariff

Why today have Ovo with no notice (& on the priority services register) suddenly changed my tariff from Economy 10 to Economy 9?

No-one in the forum can possibly say - you’ll have to contact Support. How did you discover that your tariff had changed?

Did the plan details change from one day to the next, with no notification from OVO beforehand? 

The IHD can indicate the current unit rate (which may or may not be accurate) and probably how long it is to the next rate change. If there are heavy heating loads ( > 1 kW) being switched on by the meter, the IHD should alert you by showing an orange or red traffic light and a large figure on the Now screen. Are you seeing all of these signs at the wrong times for E10 but the right ones for E9?

My plan details showing in my account now says I am on Economy 9, lists the rates for peak/off-peak & the standing charge. A day ago it showed me to be on Economy 10. The IHD now shows the same E9 rates! A switch without any notification! No heavy heating loads, it is Summer.

Awaiting an explanation from Ovo but after further observation today I find I am on E9, being charged E9 tariff but the hours of off-peak match E10 timings rather than E9 timings! All very odd.

That does all sound very strange indeed. I wonder if it’s displaying incorrectly, but running and matching the correct timings as you said. I’m happy to hear that you’ve spoken with the Support Team and they’re already looking into things for you. 

 

Please keep us updated on the resolution; hopefully, it’s just an anomaly.

A very helpful Georgia has hopefully sorted it out ( will not know until tomorrow when I hopefully go on to a E10 fixed rate). Seems to have been a mistake when my smart meter E10 tariff got to its 6 months of use? It should have been renewed as the same E10 tariff but was entered as E9 instead. Listed on my account as E9 with E9 rates but with E10 timings & 10 hours of off-peak use.
