Elec Meter Initialisation message on my In Home Display

A new message has appeared on my In Home Display, saying “Elec Meter Initialised - press OK to confirm”. My OVO account says they are receiving my smart meter readings successfully. I had smart meters for gas and electric installed Oct 2024. Why has this message appeared? Thans in advance

It can sometimes happen if the communications temporarily ‘drop out’ for whatever reason.

Eg. I've had it following power outages, even ones that were only a brief flicker of the lights.

Any disruption of power or communications to the coms hub on top of the meter, or to your In Home Device itself, can cause a new “Initialised” or “Connected” message to be shown on the IHD.

Hi @trekkerval , if your meters are communicating, it’s likely that the message is old or was delayed.
The IHD isn’t part of the link for your readings simply trying to provide a visual summary for you.

Thanks for these replies, both very helpful and now I know what’s going on - I can just press OK to get rid of the message it seems. Best wishes

Hey @trekkerval,

Glad to hear that you found the above answers helpful 😃

I’ve left an article below with more information on in home displays which could also be useful.

Please feel free to ask any follow-up questions you may have.
