The below came through today.

OVO reckon that 14kwh is enough to power 41,569 houses for a year.

Please show me your workings on this? Or admit you have people who are not competent working on this project…. 😔

Hey @supercitybity

I’ve had an update from the team:

We've made an error with the data at the bottom of your mid-trial survey email, the numbers here are correct but just in the wrong order, apologies for any confusion and look forward to hearing your feedback. It should be "41, 569 kWh of electricity has been shifted". "That's a year's worth of electricity for 14 households".

Our apologies for any confusion.

Perhaps someone doesn’t know their kilowatts from their gigawatts.

What’s a few zeroes between friends? What do you reckon they meant to write?

Dividing one figure by the other gives the digits 3, 3, 6, 8 which could suggest that they reckoned an average household consumption at 3368 kWh/year, a figure near the middle of Ofgem’s published estimates of 1800 - 6700 kWh/year. If that was the figure they used, then the total shifted was not 14 kWh, but 140,000,000 kWh - or if you prefer, 140 GWh. Seven zeroes missing!

That’s about 0.05% of total GB consumption over the past year, so if 140 GWh is the figure they meant to give, it’s not a bad effort on our part.

Hey @supercitybity

That definitely doesn’t look right! Thank you for flagging. I’ll pass this on internally
