Power Move Flex - Signup issues

Exhilerated by the OVO email announcing I had finally succeded in this Power Move game in that “ £2.61 Power Move credit will soon be on its way to your energy bill” I clicked through from the email to this page; and still on a high, clicked to complete the survey as requested.

To find that the geeks had taken over the Asylum?  the Survey clicklink led to a page allowing me to sign i (despite my already being signed in?  This page also offered the option to “Report Abuse”, and change the language from “American” English (presumably to English? I don’t speak American). It also seemed to require me to sign in via my “Google Account” whatever that is?  (I’ve managed for seven and ¾  decades without one of these, so why should I let a global multinational intrude on my life now?  It also asked me to verify I am human via a visual puzzle (misspelt CAPCHA or KETCHAP or something like that) which involved identifying “crossovers” (which I guess is Yankee for zebra crossings?) in a grid of indecipherably fuzzy photographs.

At which point I gave up, marvelling that (presumably) intelligent humans are being paid to devise all this nonsense?  Or has OVO been taken over by AI Bots..?

Can I take part?

Power Move Flex is open to eligible OVO customers. You’ll also need to have a smart meter set to half hourly smart meter readings. You can update your meter readings via your online account.

We’ll be inviting eligible customers to sign up soon via email. You’ll be added to a waiting list and we’ll let you know if you’ve successfully joined. Unfortunately there are limited spaces and we can’t guarantee a space.

For Power Move Flex for Charge Anytime, you must be an OVO customer and have Charge Anytime.

We’ll also randomly select a "control group" who won’t take part in any events for Power Up and Power Down events, and Power Move Flex for Charge Anytime. This means there’s a chance you won’t be rewarded. To find out more see our FAQs below.

  • Terms and conditions apply. Please read them here.
  • Want to find out more? You can head to our website for more information on Power Move Flex.
  • Is your question not covered in the FAQs? Post it below and we’ll get you an answer.

Ah. Had an almost identical issue. Was signing in and before it had completed that (being impatient) pessed the Accept Cookies button and then it went completely daft. I was signed in but asked me to sign in but wouldn't let me do anything. Signed out and it said I was still signed in but trying to sign in it asked me to sign in again.

In frustration I restarted my phone and everything was ok. Signed in and being more patient this time accepted cookies after it had done that and all was ok. Has not repeated that particular game.
