You’d get the full £2,000 so you’d definitely have a years worth of free gas and electricity in your situation.

Worth noting though that trying to ask questions on behalf of other future users doesn’t tend to perform well here on the Forum - it’d just get buried and most people won’t go looking for these existing answers anyway.

Hey @Blastoise186 & @springswood,

Just to correct some incorrect information on this thread the maximum prize for Power Move is £2000.

“4.5 A year’s free energy is set at a maximum bill credit of £2,000. A year’s free energy is calculated in line with Ofgem’s average Energy Price Cap for January-March 2025 for customers paying by Direct Debit, which is worked out based on a 2-3 bedroom house, with 2 to 3 occupants using 11,500 kWh gas and 2,700 kWh electricity per year. Credit may not equal one year’s free energy if you are a higher than average user or if the price cap were to increase beyond current forecasts. We’ll pay it as energy bill credit in 12 monthly instalments. For example, if you win a year's free energy in January, the credit would be applied to your bill in February and each following month up to the last payment in January the following year.”

You can find the Power Move terms by following the link.

Thanks @Chris_OVO. You must know by now I like clarity. I appreciate @Blastoise186 just made a slip on the keyboard. Did I provide any incorrect information?

Hey @Disappointed 1

Are you looking at the “Summary” section within the Power Move area of the app?

This section shows you how many entries you’re on track for, it’s not a guarantee as it’s being updated daily to reflect more recent days usage. It should show you the date in the top left hand corner of the box like below, your average peak usage %, and the number of entries you’re on track for like below:

Exact appearance and values may vary

You can view in the “Chart” section what the peak use % was for each day as shown below which might give you an indication of what day might have had higher peak usage:

If you’re unsure, feel free to share some similar screenshots like the above and we’ll see what we can advise.

Have only ever won the £2 with 15 entries each month for the last year. Missed out on it once even with 15 entries.

And if I remember correctly the maximum prize is ‘a year’s energy’ not any fixed maximum. Since my bill for total energy is around £960 for the year. Of that around £680 is electricity. So my question is what maximum prize might I expect, £2500, £960 or £680?

Of course I know I’m not forced to play. That’s why, since you replaced a transparent scheme which benefitted me by £12 with a lottery with an overwhelming expectation of £2 or nothing, I am leaving for an alternative supplier.

While I wait for my fixed contract to end I am trying to clarify for anyone what it is you’re really offering.

Is it a scheme which is less generous to low usage customers like me? I think it is but I’d like a clear answer.

Same, didn’t realise they stopped the guarenteed £10.  I can get cheaper bill on EDF just because of the stupid standing charge. I’m using 0 gas on a flat where everyone shares the  same pipe in the house (it isn’t a big apartment complex. Just a flat on a 3 floored house) and still paying that standing charge for maintenance others are already paying.

Hey @lampuiho

That’s awesome to hear you’ve earned a £2 bill credit from participating in Power Move! Fingers crossed you hit one of those bigger prize pots soon! The £10 prize just wasn’t working out or sustainable, so they decided to make changes to the challenge back in February of last year to ensure the long term success of Power Move. I've included a link to my article that shares all the changes that happened around that time if you want to take a look!

If you’ve got any questions please let us know!
