Power Move prize draw.

Can anyone claim to have won a top prize in the new 'lottery' incentive for Power Move?

I've done well and won 2 x £2.00!

Best answer by Sparky64

Fair question. It was 12 last month and 13 this month. So similar to you.

Hi @Sparky64 ,

The April draw has only just been run today, so it’s too early to say if anyone will reveal their results. But some folks who won the £2,000 in the March draw did post on TikTok about it.

Same here. I'm ok with it as it's £2 each month for doing nothing for me.

Would be nice to hear someone won something more though.. and congratulations if you did!

It would be interesting to know how much the old Power Move rebates cost OVO per month and compare it to the monthly prize fund for the new scheme.

I’m not sure I can get that information. Last time I had a discussion with the Power Move team about that, they said they weren’t allowed to reveal it. Most companies don’t seem keen to reveal financial information of that nature.

It's reassuring to know there are genuine winners. I don't know the number of Power Move participants so I guess being one of 25000 £2.00 winners maybe quite good.

Now that I might be able to reveal. I know the rough numbers but please hang in there - I’ll ask for permission to share it.

i’ve got £2 each month with 8 entries (i.e. not doing anything except charge my PHEV outside peak)

The £3 a week  I get from Power Move Flex for having the car plugged in for 3 hours a day is an extra bonus

What is disappointing though, I received £12 Dec - Jan, £12 Jan - Feb and £2 Feb - Mar, I am so pleased with the new promotion 😢, who knows I might win BIG 😤😤, attached are my entries into last month's (pointless) draw 🎉🎉🎉.

As I’ve always said though. Power Move isn’t about the money - it’s about balancing the grid.

Goodnight.

I went out of my way to do what I could for this and had ALWAYS made the max in savings!!!  Being disabled, £12 was a BIG help  !!!  Now???  I'm not putting myself out to MAYBE win/get £2 off my bill.  What are my chances of winning £2,000 or even a year free utilities???  I'd have a  better chance of getting laid by a beautiful single lady by the name of Betti-Boop !!!

I’ve been slightly puzzled by the “average use” phrasing…I’ve always thought of my monthly peak hour percentage in simple terms as an “overall%” of my total monthly usage? I follow the maths OK, my own spreadsheet pretty well tallies with OVO monthly figures, but I think of the key percentage as my monthly peak hour kWh consumption divided by my monthly grand kWh consumption total to arrive at a % figure which is not the average of anything in particular?

Maybe my understanding is a bit clouded…could it be that (for example last month in March) successive 21 days of individual daily peak hour % are all added together and then divided by 21? Bit convoluted though.

That’s how I understood. An average of all of your peak time uses. Mine was 3.7% this time - my best so far.

If they posted it on TikTok, meaning publicly, would it be possible to know who they are? That social network is very particular with its algorithms, I don’t think it will suddenly show me some happy winners.

@Sparky64 The same here, won £2 second time in a row. 12 entries this time. I guess, it was 11 last time (is there a way to see the history?).

Well last month I had 10 entries with 5.7% & won £2. This month I had 11 entries with 4.2% & won absolutely nothing…

Always had the max payment when it was done the old way so this is a bit of a slap tbh.

To answer an earlier question…

I can’t give out the number of players on PM. However, the prize pool is flexible and will adjust dynamically based on the number of players, so it will grow as needed to maintain a fair chance of winning.

I don’t use it myself. It was just that some friends told me they saw it.

Could your friends tell you how to find that TikTok videos?

Even if they did, I wouldn’t be able to access them anyway.

I don’t trust ByteDance

TikTik is blocked across my entire network. I have no plans to unblock it.

My understanding is that the “average” is a clumsy way of explaining the total you use in the 5-7 period on Mon-Fri as a % of the total you use in the month.   So it’s not really an average by most definitions but it is the amount of peak consumption in the month.

I haven’t asked you to watch it, passing the link would be enough. Does the video exist?

It does, but as I mentioned, I don’t have the link. The block I place shuts down ALL TikTok access, even search, as that’s what a Firewall does.

You should be able to find it though if you look around enough. TBH it’s probably better you do your own searches anyway, otherwise I could just cherry-pick the ones I want you to see and hide the rest.

So there are many of them? I did search it and found just one. In my own opinion, it looks like a bot-made. It’s a text above the photo of the screen. Prove me wrong!
