I’ve just received an email with my autumn update. It says that I’m not on track to reach my target of using less than 13.5% of energy between the set hours, then tells me that I’m using 12.78%. Which in my mind is less than 13.5%. What am I not understanding?

That looks suspiciously like whatever is generating the emails is still using the old 12.5% target.

I’m the same it tells me I haven’t hit my target of being under 13.5% when I am currently 12.7% 🤷‍♀️

Yep, sure looks like the September benchmark has been used in error. The important bit is the info that you’re under the 13.5% October target…well done…

Thank you, I’m not alone then! I’m actually quite pleased because so far the only change we’ve made is to use delay start on the dishwasher.

The only worrying thing is, if their automated system at the end of the month is still using the 12.5% figure. We'll all get emails saying "well done" but no payment goes through.

How odd!

My email at 17:52 today says I'm good. Target 13.5%, average 7.62%.

Well it would .... 7.62% is well below the old 12.5% target that the emails appear to be using.

My point was that the target of 13.5 % was referred to in my email - not 12.5% as others have been posting about!

Yes, the new target is 13.5%, which is what the email refers to; but people whose use was between 12.5 and 13.5% are mistakenly getting emails to say they are missing the target.

You aren't because you are comfortably below both the new and the old targets..

I got this email while travelling, so thanks for the explanation!

My house has been empty since the 7/10, so hopefully not using much electricity at all. Just the fridge, a couple of smart speakers and plugs and 2 lights coming on for a few hours each day - plus whatever the cat visitor turns on. The 12.5% goal would be impossible by the looks of things.

(I am not going to look at my absolute usage while the house is empty; I don’t want to ruin my holiday!)

They are good about these details. I used the app to claw back some of the massive direct debit they have taken from me. The app said “£211.45 is the maximum refund you can request”. So I requested £211.45. The app said “Refunds have to be pounds only” (I can’t remember the language) and changed it to £211. I mean, it’s not important, but if £211 is actually the most, that’s what it should say!

They make me feel crazy!!

Hey @Laccy40, @felixthecat

I’ve raised this issue with the team. I’ll pop back on hear when I hear back from them.

Like MCH59 mentioned it does sound like there’s been an error with the wording or target in some emails, I’ll get an update for you as soon as possible.

That looks suspiciously like whatever is generating the emails is still using the old 12.5% target.

Hey @Laccy40 & @felixthecat plus anyone else impacted by this error.

We’re really sorry. There was a technical issue when sending out the mid-month emails for October.

For those with a peak percentage between 12.50% & 13.50% you would have received an email stating you were not on track for October’s target. This was in error and you are actually on track to hit this target this month!

Do you know if new emails be going out @Abby_OVO

Hey @Jeffus

Yes, the team are working on getting corrected emails sent out as soon as we can to anyone who has been impacted, these should be out by the end of the week.
