The exact time window varies depending on your energy supplier, where you live, and other factors. But generally, the 7 off-peak hours fall somewhere between 10pm and 8.30am. (Remember, this can change with British Summer Time).
I am not looking for a 'general' idea of what time Ovo E7 hours are. I am looking, and have been looking for exactly what those hours are. This information seems to have been deliberately hidden from both the public, and your customers.
Is this hidden so well for any particular reason? Is it something they vary regionally, or from day to day?

Hi @Tosin ,
On average, the Economy 7 hours tend to be around midnight to 7am. What region are you in please, as I’ll be able to give you more accurate times with that?
Oh!Great. It's Aberdeen
Perfect! That works for me.
You’re in Northern Scotland and your DNO appears to be SSEN with an MPAN Area ID of 17. I’ve got you down as Peak 7am to Midnight, Off-Peak Midnight to 7am according to my records.
Just so you know, your times may be an hour later in the summer if you have a Smart Meter from Aclara, Honeywell or Secure.
For anyone else reading this, please bear in mind that this answer was adapted and personalised for @Tosin and might not apply to you. Feel free to ask if you’d like us to check your hours!
Aberdeen is in the SSE region, 17:
Note that these are probably GMT timings, so you’ll have to watch your meter carefully on 26 March to see whether yours have shifted by an hour - it’s costly to have the heaters switching on at midnight if the first hour is at peak prices. Mine do move to 01:00-08:00 in British Summer Time.
Hey @Tosin,
Welcome to the OVO Online Community,
If you aren’t using your Economy 7 Tariff, it might be financially beneficial to switch to a single rate tariff. You’ll still have an Economy 7 meter, but will be charged the same unit rate for each register. The following topics might be helpful to you:

Can anyone explain why, when I have the same 1 heater and the hot water on overnight, are the costs different everyday? The price per unit used is anywhere from 1.5 to 2.6. Thanks in advance.
Hi @Louise Harvey where are you seeing the different pricing for each unit?
Your heater will differ in kw used as it depends on the general temperature and it probably has a thermostat to regulate so it cuts in and out while you have it on. The hot water might be similar depending on what you’ve used during the day. That will give different kWh used but it shouldn’t change your price per kWh which will be on your plan https://account.ovoenergy.com/plan
If you are on economy 7 then your plan will show the different rates for peak use and off peak use. You might want to check when your heater and hot water are switched on
I am seeing the usage on my OVO app. I cannot attac the pics from my app. Sorry I meant to say the number of watts used changes some evenings. You have explained the reason why so thank you for your reply
I was trying to put my meter readings into my account the other day and I can only find the Total act import reading and rate 01 import reading and I do not have a rate 02 import reading however on my account I need to put in my off peak and peak readings so I am unsure which reading is the peak and which is the off peak.
Rate 01 imp reading seems to be very close to the previous peak reading from previous tenants and subtracting the Rate 01 import reading from the Total act import seems to get very similar to the previous tenants off peak reading, is this the correct way of doing these readings?
Hi @AlexDin perhaps you could give a few more details / for example what type of meter you have. Someone might be then able to help. I thought the Total reading was something quite different but if it’s similar to a previous reading it may have been used of course
I cannot find the peak and off peak periods for this can anyone help please

Howdy @maureen Stewart !
Sure thing. Here you go. The headers are one place to the left and I can’t fix that, apologies. But otherwise, it should work.

Hello
Can anyone help me please?
Is there a general off peak times for electricity usage being OVO customer?
Many thanks
D
Hi @Wrens ,
We can do that, but we need to know your tariff first - and also what region you’re in.
Thanks
Hi
I have to submit 2 meter readings.
I have recently switched to ovo.
What time are off peak
And what times are on peak please?
The Internet says numerous different things.
Following the ovo guidance of pressing 6
It doesn't have an import 2.
It just says
Import register 01
Then ovos details.
I'm sight impaired and only want to do this once as it's incredibly difficult for me to do it.
Many thanks.
Can you take - or get someone to take - a clear photo of the meter itself? We’d then be able to tell you which buttons to press to get the readings you need.
The offpeak hours vary around the country. Find your region on the map, then look for the corresponding times in the table:
These are GMT times, so depending on your meter, they will probably be an hour later now during British Summer Time.
Last, you may be able to get someone to come and read the meter for you if you have difficulty doing it yourself. Contact Support and explain the situation to them; they should offer to enrol you on to the Priority Services Register.

Hi
How do I know when my economy 7 meter charges the night rate?
It is supposed to be on my bills but I don't see see it.
Also will all consumption be the lower rate or just the night storage heaters.
I see my readings / usage & have a smart meter.
Thanks
You’ll see the times on the plan page on the web. They don’t seem to be given in the app.
