New partnerships helping us create a greener, brighter future for the next generation

In 2014 we launched OVO Foundation, which is OVO’s own climate focused charity.

100% of the money kindly donated by our customers goes directly into funding our projects. For every penny you donate, we match, so together we can double the impact!

Every child and young person should have access to nature – and be able to learn about protecting the planet they love. It’s the next generation that will be most affected by the climate crisis, so that’s why since 2020 we’ve been funding climate action and education projects here in the UK. It’s how we can make the biggest impact.

We’re incredibly proud of the work we’ve already done, and are excited to announce our new partnerships with three brilliant charities. Together, we can inspire the next generation to become the green guardians of tomorrow.

Let’s get to know our new partners and projects:

Ashden Climate Solutions

We’re giving 75 schools a cash prize to kick off their own nature projects. This will bring over 37,000 children closer to nature and forms part of Ashden Climate Solutions' excellent ‘Let’s Go Zero’ campaign. The campaign will connect nearly 2,000 schools aiming to cut their carbon by 2030.

Apps for Good

OVO has always pioneered green tech. So what better partnership than pairing creative technology with climate education? With our funding, Apps for Good will enable 26,000 students to work alongside industry experts to develop prototypes that offer real solutions to the climate emergency.

Their mission is to give every child and young person the chance for a greener planet while developing practical, technological skills that will shape their futures.

Students Organising for Sustainability UK

This project by Students Organising for Sustainability UK gives the power back to young people. Allowing them to teach their teachers about sustainability! This ingenious idea means the students themselves will be giving lessons on themes like environmental action and how to deal with Eco-Anxiety.

This project will provide training for over 4,500 teachers, while supporting 900 young people with the tools to become climate sustainability experts.

Over the next 3 years, our funding aims to:

  • Benefit over 670,000 students, by bringing them closer to nature and teaching them the skills they need to fight the climate crisis

  • Empower 5,000 teachers to educate their students about climate change

  • Support climate action and education projects in 1,175 schools
