warm home discount letter sent to my previous address

Good morning 

I have recieved the letter from the government to say im entitled to the warm home discount,  but it was sent to my previous address, I have rung them to say it's the wrong address but they said they can't change it, will I need to ring ovo to get this sorted out, or will i not get it , what do I need to do

You can try calling OVO but I’m not sure they can help with this.

I will ask ​@Abby_OVO to see if she can check with the team though.

Were you still in the previous property on  24 August 2025?
That was the qualifying date for the WHD.

If you were then was OVO your electricity supplier at that pevious property?
If not then who was the supplier there?
The supplier at that time/property will be responsible for crediting the £150 to you.

If you were with a different supplier at your previous property then get in touch with them about getting the £150 to you.

If you were with OVO there but had a different account number then contact OVO about it.

No matter who your supplier was on 24 August 2025 you are still entitled to the WHD from them evern if you have moved home and/or or changed supplter since.

If you were a Direct Debit customer they will usually automatically credit it to the bank account that you were paying the Direct Debit from.

If you were not a Direct Debit customer then contact them and ask them to pay it to a bank account of your choice. Note they may instead send a cheque.

Glad to see a couple of our users have already stopped by with some advice here. I did check in with one of the team on this just to be sure.

 

They confirmed that yes, we will pay this if you lived in an OVO supplied property on the qualifying date (24/08). We’ll arrange a cheque, they did advise to ensure your account is up to date with the correct forwarding address so we get the cheque sent to the correct place.

 

I would double check that with the Support Team, they’ll be able to check that and get it updated if need be.
