Beyond - TWO Free Hours Electricity per Week

I have been using this “Bonus” as much as I can especially at the weekend (Sunday) but my last three detailed monthly bills show Beyond saving as £0.00?

Can someone explain please?

You should actually see two relevant entries, such as in this example:

The one that does not show the VAT thing on the line entry is the actual credit - the £0.00 one (that mentions VAT) is the add-on itself which enables the free hours. You should ignore that one.

If for some reason, you don’t see both… Please contact OVO Support and ask them to investigate. Details can be found below:

Thank you that is visible using the App but was not shown on the web based version.

 

However, it is only shown for June and the total of 8 hours free Electricity is a paltry £1.38.

That sounds correct to me - it would be for May. The June one will come through soon.

You get one free kWh per period so the amount sounds right to me.

I’m happy to hear you’re making the most of the two hours of free electricity with Beyond. As you mentioned, it might not seem like a huge saving, but it’s certainly better than nothing! There are other ways to save money on your bills too, like Power Move or the Power Move Flex trial. I'll include the links below for more information 😊

I've noticed that I can choose hours for next week even though the Terms of the Beyond Free 2 hours say this is available until 31st August . 

 

Anyone else had the ability to select times/dates after 31st August ? Has it been extended into September, and the T&Cs not been updated; or do you think I'll not get any free energy during the times I selected ?

Odd, but I can confirm the above and have just selected 2-hours for September:

 

I haven’t seen anything about the Free Hours being extended past 31st August so this may just be a glitch.

I’ve flagged it up for the staff to check with the Beyond team.

I also was allowed to select an apparently “extra” 2 hours in September.  It will indeed be interesting to see what the verdict is on whether it’s a glitch or whether things have been extended into September.

I’ve been told that he Beyond team are looking at this, so hopefully there may be more informaion on Monday?
(Or at least before the first of them is due on Friday 5th?).

For the moment it does seem to be a glitch and the September free hours may not be ‘real’.
For one thing the potential cost of them to OVO won’t have been budgeted for, it will only have been budgeted up to August 31st.


Personally I look at it this way -
If you use energy during those currently "unsure" September hours - energy that you were going to use anyway at other times - then you will not have lost anything because it’s energy that you would have been using at some time anyway, and would be charged for anyway.

However if Beyond do admit that it was a mistake, but do decide to honour the September free hours that you may have already signed up for then that's good too.

Anyone had their payment credit for Augusts 2 hours free electricity yet? It shows as Beyond - Free Electricity on the account charges breakdown. Seems late this month- cheers

Mine wasn’t there yesterday, however it has just shown up today on my current billing period.

I believe the reason that it was a bit late this month, is that they had been waiting to include the extra 2-hours for September, if you had managed to sign up for them,

 

That £1.52  include the ‘extra’ 2-hours in September that I had managed to sign up for.

Thanks for the reply- mine also arrived shortly after my message- and yes it must include the extra 2 days in September…. Must be why it was a bit late as the final September date was Sun 7th … every little helps these days.

I’ve confirmed now that it does include those two September hours.

In my case it even takes account of the fact that my tariff changed on 28th August, so the last 3-days were at my new tariff.
